Your Wedding Week Survival Guide
The calm before 'I do'

Hi Bridal Diaries Gang! đ
Some of you are fast approaching this moment of your wedding journey(!!), and if thatâs youâŚ.a huge, huge congratulations! đđ
And if your wedding is still a little while away, save this now. Future you will be very grateful.
The wedding week is one of the most exciting weeksâŚeverything youâve dreamt of, everything youâve planned for, everything youâve stressed overâŚitâs all about to come together! But Iâll warn you, its one of the fastest weeks!!
It quickly turns into a chaotic mix of excitement, nerves, outfit changes, last minute questions, family whatsapp galore, and suddenlyâŚitâs over. You blink and youâre already on the dance floor showing off your new ring (oh yeh..and your husband!)
Weâve spoken before about slowing down and actually feeling the moment, but the reality isâŚthat only happens when things are organised properly and you actually have space to breathe.
So this is your friendly reminderâŚ
The week before your wedding is not for ramping things up. Itâs for handing things over, stepping back, and enjoying the ride!
THE HANDOVER
Before the week of your wedding you need to send one final confirmation to all of your suppliers with your timeline and then, importantlyâŚcheck their arrival times properly. Donât just assume when they will be coming, thatâs where things get confusing.
Send one clear timeline to your key people: bridesmaids, groomsmen, family members involved in specific roles (especially the ceremony itself, entrances, pheras, group photos). Keep it really simple, and easy to follow, but remember to send it close enough to the day that people actually remember it.
Assign a âgo toâ person for the day. Someone to answer the questions, to be your logistics and planning buffer. Pick someone calm, organised, and most importantly, pick someone who is not already doing five other jobs (e.g. not immediate family!)
YOUR WEDDING BAG
Start your list in advance, and add things as you remember. Must haves:
ID/travel documents if required.
Phone charger + power bank
Perfume or cologne
Tissues
Safety pins (they will always come in handy!) + fashion tape and/or body glue.
Plasters
Snacks
Cash in labelled envelopes for suppliers that need paying on the day!
THE LITTLE THINGS
Remember to break your shoes in properly, there is nothing worse than having painful feet on such a big day! Make sure your family/bridesmaids have a backup stash of plasters just in case. If in doubt, have a backup shoe option!
Remember to steam your outfits, after they are done then keep everything hung, labelled and untouched. Lay it out per event with jewellery, shoes and accessories so you are sure nothing will get lost in the chaos
No new skincare or treatments - youâll be tempted to try things but donât! Even âgentleâ products can cause you to react.
Hydrate constantly, it'll show on your skin and help with the wedding glow â¨
Donât restrict food, you need your energy! This is going to be a busy week and itâs really important you eat well, nourish your body!
Prioritise sleep, honestly there is nothing that you have to do at 2am in the morning - sleep!
AND, DONâT FORGET:
If you havenât alreadyâŚremember to write your vows and keep them safe. Assign someone on the day to have them with them and to pass it to you when itâs time. The same goes for if you are doing a speech.
Practice saying your vows and/or speech out loud at least once. Just so it doesnât feel unfamiliar.
Choose who is holding the ringsâŚand tell them! Tell them where to get the rings and when they need to give them so they are very clear on their role.
Finalise your group photos with your photographer, and remind them of any key shots you want for your special day.
Pack an overnight bag if needed: toothbrush, makeup remover, pyjamasâŚthe simple things!
Check the weatherâŚand as the saying goes remember to âbury the sausageâ to keep the rain away, if you believe in that! đ§ď¸
FINAL NOTE
Remember, this is one of the only times youâll be in a room with all of your favourite people, make the most of it and soak it all in!
Youâve done the hard part.
Everything that truly matters is already in place.
Now itâs time to step back, trust in it all, and ENJOY EVERY SECOND!
Love always,
