Lately, we’ve been seeing more and more interactive seating plans at weddings, and trust me when I say that elevating your seating plan from a single sign (although there is absolutely nothing wrong with this!) into a full display can completely transform your ambiance. It brings out your personality and making your guests feel really considered and special.

The beauty of a seating plan is…the possibilities are ENDLESS! I’ll tell you about a few amazing ideas we’ve seen at weddings to give you some inspo, but I’d definitely recommend using this as an opportunity to really showcase yours and your partners aesthetic and inject a bit of fun into your decor…

1. ‘Grab a Treat & Find Your Seat’
   Instead of putting a wedding favour at each seat, why not pop it into a small gift bag with the guest’s name and table number on it, and display it on shelves. It doesn’t even need to be anything over the top but I promise your guests faces will light up seeing this! It instantly turns something practical into a thoughtful, interactive moment.

2. Fortune Cookie Wall
   This is the perfect example of taking something really simple and making it into a ‘wow’ factor for your guests. Automatically by putting the fortune cookies on a display, it will naturally draw people and so no-one will miss it! I also love the pop of colour and texture it brings to what might otherwise be an empty space.

3. ‘Take a Shot & Find Your Spot’
   This is definitely for our party lovers! Such a fun way to get all your guests hyped up and in the party mood ready for the night ahead. For the non-drinkers you can easily replace it with a non alcoholic option so everyone feels included. You can try this with cocktails/mocktails/beers, or even miniature versions of guests’ favourite drinks if you really want to make them feel special!

4. ‘Find Your Face To Find Your Place’
   I know I know, this one isn’t quite ‘interactive’ but I couldn’t leave it out! Hey Draw Me (heydrawme.com) draw every single one of your guests around the table, so instead of them searching for their name…they find their face! I love this one because I think it’s the perfect keepsake of your wedding to frame and display in your house after.

   Bonus is that they can add little drawings of pets, a drink in hand, or fun prop in hand that reflect each guest’s personality.

5. Literally ANYTHING
   This is the perfect reminder that almost anything can become part of a seating plan displace. Sunglasses, travel tags for a destination wedding, candles, mini vases of flowers, donuts, cupcakes…even little keepsakes that reflect your story as a couple. The possibilities are endless!

We love couples have a bit of fun with their seating plans, because moments like this bring so much personality into the wedding design and decor. And honestly…guest’s faces light up when they walk in and discover something thoughtful and unexpected like this.
