Groomsmen Gifts

Gifts that won’t bankrupt you (or get left in an Uber)

Hello friends. We’ve had a few grooms recently come to us with the same problem. Their fiancé has bought a bunch of amazing thoughtful and personalised gifts to ‘propose’ to their bridesmaid(s) and no-one told them that was a thing. Don’t worry. No-one warned me there would be more than one proposal either. But I’ve got you.

While your groomsmen probably would accept their role regardless, it’s nice to give them a little something more permanent. You know… like friendship, but tangible.

So here are six solid groomsmen gift ideas that won’t drain your wedding fund or end up in a drawer. I’ve even linked them in the headings so I’ve basically done all of the hard work.

For the man who’s still using a hand-luggage-friendly plastic bag for toiletries. Class it up with a wash bag with their initials on. These are really practical and will actually come in use.

You have two options here. Either go for a pair of socks that are high quality and would go great with a tux/the wedding theme OR you go full narcissist and get ones with your face on them.

I actually did this for my groomsmen, and if you’re feeling sentimental, feel free to engrave their initials/ the wedding date on. I’d opt for the former option as they’re more likely to use it long-term. For those who predominantly drank beer I got a personalised beer tankard and for those who predominantly drank whiskey I got them a hip flask. For those who didn’t drink, I told them not to come to the wedding.

Classy, minimal, and way better than another novelty bottle opener. Again, personalisation with initials is a nice touch or even the wedding location coordinates. An even better idea would be to put the coordinates of a meaningful place for the two of you such as where you met. I’m so cute aren’t I.

I actually just copied Priya for this. This is quite a classic gift for the bridal party as its typically used to hang up their bridesmaid outfits. However, there’s no reason you can’t do the same for your boys.

I actually came across this when looking for inspiration from Priya’s bridesmaid gifts. Pine and cloves, smoke and vanilla and vintage leather are a few of the options to choose from. Nothing says ‘be my groomsman’ like spicing up the man cave with some manly candles.

Cufflinks are a classic. The ones linked here come in a nice little box and even come with an optional tie clip. Its a nice way to tie the groomsmen together on the wedding day (pun not intended but I couldn’t find an equivalent word) and you can guarantee they’ll use it again and again because who ever owns more than one (matching) set of cufflinks?!

Okay that’s probably enough. Presentation matters though apparently. Stick it all in a little gift box with a handwritten note (or a sarcastic joke), and you’re golden.

Happy Planning (& shopping!)!

Love,

Nim
