MY FAVOURITE RECEPTION ENTRANCE SONGS 👰🏽‍♀️ 🎶

Walking into your reception is one of the most epic moments of your wedding so you want to make sure you pick an epic song to match! There’s this build up of excitement, nerves, anticipation and just overall happiness that you’re finally celebrating your big day! You will also feel like there’s a big weight off your shoulders as the formalities of the vows or religious ceremony is done so this is the time to party!

Here are some of my favourite reception entrance songs below. I found it hard to shortlist so I may have to do a Part 2 of this newsletter in the future!

1) A Sky Full Of Stars- Coldplay

This was my reception entrance song for my Indian wedding and it was INCREDIBLE. The beat drop at 2.50 is 👌🏽. This also worked with our wedding vibe as we had our reception outside and it was literally under the stars. Anyway, I’m obviously biased but this song is definitely a winner!

2) Higher Love- Whitney Houston & Kygo

A remix of a Whitney classic that is guaranteed to get both the young and old crowd hyped. I’d personally enter around 2.35 and get the DJ to play the bit before so your crowd can clap to the beat and welcome you in!

3) Feel So Close- Calvin Harris

Another great upbeat song with a long instrumental bit so is perfect for a longer entrance. Also the lyrics are cute ‘I feel so close to you right now, it’s a force field’ ❤️ 

4) You’ve Got The Love- Florence & The Machine

I’m biased again as this was my Civil reception entrance song but it genuinely is a GREAT entrance song or at least a good option to use as a background track in your wedding video. I’d definitely recommend waiting until 1.27 to do your entrance though, just after the pause!

5) Forever- Chris Brown

I’m a huge CB fan so really wanted to incorporate him in our wedding but Nim sadly said no. Please can someone use this song as their entrance and tag me/let me know so I can live vicariously live through you 😂 I’ve seen this be used at lots of weddings and it is a perfect mix of vibey but cute!

6) Mi Gente- J Balvin 

If you’re vibes > cuteness, this kind of song is perfect for you! Everyone knows it and it’ll definitely get people up on their feet!

7) Signed, Sealed, Delivered- Stevie Wonder 

This is a Motown classic that you can’t go wrong with! Also the chorus lyrics are perfect if you’ve just had your Civil!

8) Love On Top- Beyonce

Those that know me well will know I’m a huge BEY fan and I actually initially wanted this as my Civil entrance song. The lyrics of this are so nice and it’s the perfect just married song. If you want a vibier Bey song though, Crazy In Love will always be my go-to.

9) Sugar- Maroon 5

Another cute and upbeat option!

10) This Is What You Came For- Calvin Harris & Rihanna 

One of my favourite Calvin Harris songs. Start at around 1.50 ready for the beat to drop.

11) You Are The Best Thing- Ray LaMontagne

A slower type of entrance song but the lyrics are so sweet. Would recommend entering at the start or the chorus around 1.12.

12) I Wanna Dance With Somebody- Whitney Houston 

This is another crowd pleaser and is perfect if you want everyone to join you on the dance floor once you’ve done your entrance!

13) Touch The Sky- Kanye West

You can enter right away with this Kanye banger as it goes straight into the chorus!

14) All I Do Is Win- DJ Khaled

For my more hip-hop R&B brides, I’ve seen this done at a wedding and it was great as they got all the bridesmaids and groomsmen up on the dance floor too!

15) Beautiful Day- U2 

I can imagine this would be an amazing song especially for a summer wedding. Start just before 1.00 for the chorus!

16) Ain’t No Mountain High Enough- Marvin Gaye 

This is another cute and timeless Motown classic. It also is one that everyone will know the words to so will sing along as you enter!

17) Turn Down For What - DJ Snake

The beat for this one speaks for itself 👌🏽.

18) Let’s Get Married- Jagged Edge

If you’re an old school R&B fan like myself, then this is your entrance song. Another similarly great option is Wifey-Next. They are both relevant and cute but still upbeat enough to get everyone cheering!

19) Ye- Burna Boy 

If you both love Afrobeats then you have to have this Burna Boy favourite.

20) Freed From Desire- Gala

This is the one song I see at every wedding that gets people up and on their feet. If you want that entrance with everyone twirling their napkins welcoming you in, this song will guarantee it!
