5 STUNNING MANDAP/ALTAR DESIGNS YOU SHOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER...đŸŒșđŸ€”

From modern glam to rustic chic, these designs are guaranteed to blow you away!

Happy Monday Bridal Diaries Gang! Hope you’re all doing well and planning is going smoothly. I just got back from my Scotland site visit trip for one of my 2024 couples’ and am full of ideas and inspo to share with you over the next few months! If your planner/decor team/production team haven’t seen your venue before, I can’t stress to you enough how important it is that they do a site visit before. It will massively improve the on the day logistics, manage expectations and help you stay within budget!

Anyway, todays’ newsletter is all about mandaps/altars/chuppahs- whatever you personally call them. I’m talking about the statement stage which you get married on. This often acts as the main focal point of your ceremony decor and so it’s important you put some thought into the design and theme of it! I’ve teamed up with the incredibly talented Shagun Weddings to show you 5 of their amazing mandap designs that you should consider as inspo if you don’t know where to start! Shagun Weddings actually did my civil wedding decor (as featured in the photo above) and they honestly blew me away, so if you’re searching for a decor team recommendation then look no further.

When thinking about your mandap design, think about these 3 things first:

1) Venue type- your mandap has to compliment your venue style. For example an ultra modern lux mandap may not necessarily work in a rustic countryside barn.

2) Wedding style- have a good idea of your colour palette and type of wedding you are having. If your

3) Decor budget- this will allow your decor team to create realistic ideas and options for you. They may also be able to provide alternatives that can work within your budget.

1) Perspex Mandap

Perspex clear pillars allow for better viewing for your guests and create an illusion of a floating mandap. You can combine this with hanging elements through the pillars and a mirror aisle for a clean statement look. This kind of mandap design works with many colour palettes and so can be used for most themes.

2) Printed Bespoke Mandap

This type of design completely allows you to embrace a theme by customising the print on the pillars. This way you can merge two types of designs but also know you have something completely bespoke to your wedding!

3) Tiered Statement Mandap

This mandap is ‘alllll the drama’. It is high impact with the gold framed arches and heavy framing florals. It is definitely giving secret garden vibes and I’m fully here for it!

4) Heavy Floral Mandap

If you love florals, this mandap is definitely for you. The statement flowers will definitely create that ‘wow-factor’ as your guests walk in. You can combine both real and synthetic flowers if you are mindful of budget, but this kind of mandap can work in the majority of colour schemes.

5) Rustic Wooden Mandap

This one is perfect for my boho-rustic Brides. Simple and elegant, this wooden framed mandap would look stunning in any neutral venue but also especially in a barn style of venue. I personally love the hanging lights addition!

Hope you found this useful- would love to know which of the designs is your favourite! As always, please do give me any feedback in how I can make these newsletters better for you!

PS- I’m away in Vietnam for the next few weeks so may be a bit quieter than normal on Socials just in case any of you send me an email, DM or enquiry! đŸ€

Love,
