2025 Ins & Outs (Part 2) 👰🏻‍♀️💒

Pristines' Hot Take On This Years Trends ⤵️

Okay guys we’re back again with Part 2 of our 2025 In’s & Out’s, with us covering our Outs today!

OUTS:

1) Matching Everything

We touched on this in yesterday’s newsletter, but we are moving away from everything perfectly matching in shade and style! Having mismatching textures and shades actually can elevate the elegance of your event if done in the right way.

2) Single Use Items/Lack Of Sustainability

Sustainability is becoming increasingly popular, and so it should be! Couples are becoming more mindful of single use items, ordering items made from recycling and even food wastage from their own wedding. A recent couple of ours were really passionate about this and ensured all leftover food from their wedding was packed up at the end of the night and given out to guests before leaving to avoid wastage! Other things to consider are e-invites instead of printed ones, swapping plastic for bamboo or recycled paper items, considering ethical diamond rings and picking a menu based on seasonal and readily available food as opposed to imports!

3) Monochromatic Colour Schemes

As mentioned initially, having one colour or shade can sometimes make your wedding styling seem a bit flat. Even if you want to stick to one colour, try and pick different shades of that colour to add a sense of luxury to the styling. This can be within the linens and napkins, the florals, the stationery or even subtly in the bridal party accessories.

4) Classic Formal Wedding Breakfasts

A lot more couples are opting for an ‘informal’ reception where instead of a sit down wedding breakfast, they have street food stalls. This creates more of a ‘party’ atmosphere and can mean more time on the dancefloor! In addition, it means if you are a massive foodie, this is the perfect way to have all your favourite foods in one place. For me, I’d be picturing a live pizza and pasta station, a taco and nacho station and an Indo-Chinese station!. Having live cooking stations also creates a unique guest experience as they are able to customise their food and watch it being cooked. Please note though, we would always recommend some round tables even at an informal event like this, for the older guests who prefer to still sit down.

5) Boho Themes

Whilst I personally will always love boho and feel like you can’t go wrong with neutral tones, we are seeing less couples opt for the classic pampas beige styling. Instead they are being bold with colour choices, no matter what season they are getting married in, and we are here for it! We are seeing deep maroons and forest greens in winter, lilacs and peaches for spring, fuchsias and oranges for summer and olives, browns and burnt oranges for spring.

6) Immediate Honeymoons

Couples are finally realising that you need a break between your wedding and honeymoon- I cannot stress that enough. Whilst the idea of jetting off to the Maldives the day after your wedding sounds dreamy, I can promise you the reality is a) you will most likely be hungover, and if not hungover, then exhausted b) the Bridal Suite you will have woken up in will be an absolute tip c) there will most likely be venue sign offs or things you have to do admin wise the next day and d) you will be drained physically, mentally and emotionally! I always strongly advise to take at minimum a few days between your wedding and honeymoon to give you time to debrief together, be in your post-wedding high, unpack from your wedding, open wedding cards and gifts and most importantly, rest!

7) Moody/Model Style Couple Photoshoots

I do love a moody style shoot however I do kind of feel that you can’t really do much with them after? Like when picking the photos to put up in frames, most of the time you’ll go for the cute laughing or candid photos so I wouldn’t worry about spending lots of your shoot time doing your sultry eyes and pouts and focus on being in the moment and having fun!

8) Traditional Wedding Favours

I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again, wedding favours aren’t necessary! If you are planning to do favours, make them personal to yourselves, to your wedding theme or vibe or practical ones that won’t get left behind on the table. A lot of couples are opting to ditch favours completely and put that budget towards something more meaningful!

9) Traditional Style Invites

We are seeing an increase in unique style invites; couples are becoming super creative and using items as save the dates and invites. I’ve seen vinyl records, postcards or cocktail shakers all personalised and printed with the invite or wedding website QR code on it and guests love that they can actually use these also!

10) Neglecting Self Care On The Wedding Planning Journey

Wedding stress is inevitable but we want to see an increase in Bride’s prioritising self care and their mental health this year. It’s very easy to be over stimulated with social media algorithms, comparisons of friends wedding, balancing different family opinions and dealing with the pressure that we as females put on ourselves to look and be the best version of ourselves. Take time every week to have at least an hour or two where you aren’t doing wed-min and are doing something for yourself.

Just a reminder guys, these are just our thoughts based on current trends. Your wedding should always be whatever you want, whether it’s ‘trending’ or not, so please don’t take any of the above to heart!

Happy Planning!

Love,

Priya
